Live in Costa del Este / About the guide
About this Costa del Este guide
We are Costa del Este residents. We write this guide in Spanish and English for people choosing where to live and for neighbors who want to get to know their neighborhood better, and publish it in seven languages.
An independent guide
We are not a real estate agency, a developer, or an official channel of the municipality or a neighborhood’s administration. We carry no paid advertising and earn nothing from our links. We use no cookies or trackers. The server keeps access logs with shortened IP addresses for 90 days to count visits.
Our relationship with Costa Azul
costaazulcde.com is the other site in this residents’ project. It focuses on the Costa Azul neighborhood; this guide covers Costa del Este and the wider context of living in Panama. We share information and link the two sites. Neither is an official administration channel.
How we estimate walking times
We start at Town Center and calculate routes along the OpenStreetMap street network at 80 meters per minute, about 5 km/h, rounding up to the next minute. Tenants inside a mall or building share its arrival time; Town Center’s tenants are shown as ‘In Town Center’. Crossings, breaks and indoor walking are excluded. These are route estimates, not timed walks or an accessibility certification. Destinations marked ‘by car’ are labeled separately, and the driving table starts at the Costa Azul entrance (OSRM free-flow estimates).
Languages and translations
We write the guide in Spanish and English. The Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, French, Italian and German editions are translated from the English edition, and each says so in its footer. If a translation differs, the Spanish and English editions take precedence.
Sources, experience and dates
We favor institutions’ own pages, mall directories, public sources and OpenStreetMap. Links on listings and in the sources section let readers check the information. We label facts supplied through residents’ experience, including fiber to the home and underground utilities, confirmed in October 2026. Each page’s visible date records its latest content review; it does not refresh when someone opens the page or when styling changes. Prices and calendars retain their source’s year, and information we do not find published is marked accordingly.
Corrections and contact
If you find an error or a place that has closed, email us the page address, the detail and a public source we can check. We review the evidence before changing the guide, correct both language versions and update the page’s date. Contact details sent to us are not published.
